Wing lists 19 Walmart delivery metros, but Bentonville’s launch status remains unclear

10 Sec Scan
Wing’s Walmart delivery page now lists 19 metros but excludes Bentonville, where a drone nest received city approval in September 2025. Public records reviewed by DroneXL do not establish whether that site has launched.
What Changed
Wing added Denver and Seattle to its planned Walmart delivery footprint, while Bentonville remains absent from its published metro list. DroneXL’s review identifies an unresolved gap between Bentonville’s site approval and publicly confirmed operating status.
The Signal
For planners and store operators, site approval is not evidence that drone delivery has begun. Bentonville’s recommended reporting and noise conditions offer practical oversight measures, but their value depends on confirming permit terms and requesting operational data.
60 Sec Understand
Wing’s addition of Denver and Seattle for 2027 brings its Walmart delivery list to 19 metros: five serving customers and 14 coming soon. Bentonville is absent despite a September 2025 city approval for a Wing nest at Walmart Store #100 and subsequent Walmart executive remarks about local drone delivery. The approval covered a nest occupying 27 parking spaces and a separate order-loading enclosure. City staff recommended conditions addressing flight reporting, noise checks, emergency contacts and airspace coordination, alongside a one-year permit term. Whether that term remains in force is unresolved: the meeting minutes do not restate it, and DroneXL has not confirmed the permit’s status with the city. The missing listing does not prove operations stalled; a launch would not necessarily generate a new public FAA review. The case highlights the distinction between a local site approval, an announced expansion and confirmed service.
